Balance Over Burnout is an interactive workshop designed to help educators build the practices, self-awareness, and support needed to sustain themselves in the work they care deeply about. Grounded in the Valor Compass framework, participants explore mindfulness, values-aligned connection, and strengths-based leadership while connecting authentically with a community of compassionate educators. Participants leave with practical tools for cultivating greater balance, well-being, and sustainability in their roles.


There is no pre-work for this event.

TRAVEL & PLANNING CONSIDERATIONS



🕜  Arrival & Departure Times:  See the agenda for specific start and end times. If you are flying, please book flights that allow you to be fully present for all sessions. We are about 10 miles from the airport (it is typically a 15 - 30 minutes drive depending on traffic), so please book your flights accordingly.


🏫  Location: All sessions will take place at the Valor Compass Center which is located at 4523 Nolensville Pk, Nashville, TN 37211. 


⚪  Engagement & Presence: As you prepare for this event please let your colleagues know that you will not be accessible during core sessions. This is an active training experience and requires your full attunement to maximize learning.  Please note that during sessions, all participants are directed to put personal devices such as phones and laptops away to avoid distractions and to be fully "dropped-in" and present.


🏨  Local Lodging: When planning your travel, please consider that the Compass Center is located in the South Nashville neighborhood and close to Brentwood, TN. If you are looking for specific local recommendations as you plan your trip, please review our Visitor Guide


🍽️  Meals: On Day ONE, due to the afternoon start, we will have coffee, snacks and drinks for you. We will provide breakfast, coffee, snacks, drinks, and lunch on days TWO and THREE of the training. Please bring a refillable bottle for water. You will be on your own for dinner each evening, please review our Visitor Guide for recommendations. 


 👫 Dress code: The attire for this event is casual. We want you to feel comfortable throughout the event so dress for a sense of ease. The Compass Center can get chilly, so you might want to bring an extra layer. 


🚗  Daily Travel to the Compass Center: Once in Nashville if you are relying on Uber/Lyft we recommend pre-scheduling your rides to ensure you arrive on time each day with plenty of time for breakfast! Arrival traffic at the schools is heaviest from 7:15 - 7:55am.
