IMAGINE A SCHOOL
where every student feels seen.
Partnering with Valor to earn your credential means choosing to lead your school with clarity, courage, and deep human connection. It is a commitment to orient every decision around purpose, belonging, and growth. This is why students and adults in our Powered by Compass schools feel seen, valued, and capable of becoming their fullest selves.
The Compass model transforms schools into communities where relationships anchor learning, reflection fuels resilience, and shared direction turns daily challenges into meaningful progress.

So far..

When people feel seen and known,
amazing things happen.

YOUR 3-STEP JOURNEY

1
Community Foundation
Before launching Compass Circles, your school selects your 4-person Powered by Compass Team to be immersed in our training program in Nashville for the full 3-year commitment. This leadership team will spearhead establishing your school’s Community Foundation by ushering in what we refer to as a commitment-based culture. Your school will develop its own community commitments and the Powered by Compass Team that you selected will be trained in the core essential skills for facilitating Compass Circles for faculty and staff.

2
Faculty Implementation
The next stage of your journey initiates the practice of all faculty and staff engaging with Compass Badge Work - our self-directed curriculum of reflective, competency-based human development work that helps individuals explore their identity, values, and their own unique noble purpose. As individuals work through Badges, that work is shared in the safety of our core practice - Compass Circles.
As faculty acclimate to this new ritual, your Powered by Compass Team returns to Nashville to dive deeper into high quality Circle facilitation training to ensure optimal outcomes and high quality Circle experience for all faculty. This stage of Compass Camp culminates in our spring “Ready to Launch” training to gear up for the final stage of our training program….

3
Student Implementation
In the 3rd and final stage, you’re ready to launch your school’s Commitments, Badge Work, and Compass Circles for your student body - modified appropriately for early elementary, upper elementary, middle, and high school grade bands.
In addition to navigating a successful rollout with students, your Powered by Compass Team is trained a full set of technical and adaptive coaching and professional development strategies to ensure you are setup for continuous improvement of the Compass model for years to come. Using a data-driven walkthrough process, nationally-benchmarked surveys, and a comprehensive suite of coaching tools and professional development training packages, your Valor coach will guide you to ensure that all students and staff have access to high quality, comprehensive human development.

★
Certification
At the culmination of Compass Camp, your coach makes a final on-site visit and completes an assessment of our evidence-based indicators of success. This marks the completion of Compass Camp, certifying your school as a Powered by Compass School. As a Certified Partner, you have exclusive access to the most up-to-date curricular resources, continued quarterly coaching, continued access to Circle facilitator training at our Compass Center, and continued education and support in the Compass model. You also get exclusive access to our annual PBC Summit every Spring at the beautiful Lone Rock Retreat Center to connect with other PBC Schools and recharge your spirit for human-centered connection & belonging.
